CODE 1 Imminent risk of threat to life - lights/siren not usually heard
CODE 2 Immediate risk of danger or serious bodily harm - lights/sirens used.
CODE 3 No immediate risk of danger or bodily harm - lights/sirens used according to officer's discretion
CODE 4 Delayed response - No lights or siren.

Ambulance Codes

1: Failed primary assessment, life threatening, two ambulances automatically dispatched: Use lights and sirens
2: Failed secondary assessment, possibly life threatening: Use lights and sirens
3: Active treatment required, not life threatening: No Lights Or Sirens
4: Patient transfer, treatment required, patient stable: No Lights Or Sirens
5: Patient transfer, observation required: No Lights Or Sirens
6: Patient transfer, no active treatment required: No Lights Or Sirens
